Classic Country Drive

Country Discovery is an exciting new fusion of New South Wales regions, blending the best each has to offer with unexpected finds that help to make your trip both interesting and extremely indulgent!

Driving through the New South Wales, discover friendly, historic towns with a contemporary edge thanks to the thriving market for fresh local produce and wine from regional vineyards. The increasing number of vineyards and olive groves reaches far beyond the Great Dividing Range to places including Young, Cowra, Orange and Mudgee. Venison, trout, olives, nuts, cheeses and stone fruits are just some of the specialties in these districts. There are also wine growing areas outside Canberra in the Murrumbateman and Hilltops regions.

While wine and food are a driving force behind much of the interest for travellers there’s more to discover once you are there as every town has a wealth of local heritage. You can’t pass by the Southern Highlands without stopping to look around Mittagong, Bowral and Berrima and a little further on, Goulburn and Yass. Autumn and Spring are the best times to appreciate the varied seasons of areas such as the Southern Highlands, Bathurst and the Blue Mountains and of course the mountain air, glorious views and attractions of towns such as Katoomba, Leura and Blackheath are tempting at any time of year. In the Canberra District explore the Bungendore area, discover Queanbeyan and stop to have a good look at Yass.

Where Are Australia's Best Beaches?

Australia's Best Beaches

Australia has miles and miles of shoreline but which beaches are really great? Ultimately it depends on what you're looking for in a beach. Pristine wilderness without a single footprint in sight, the sparkle of cosmopolitan high rise on the waters edge, the adrenalin pumping roar of a powerful surf beach, or quite simply the perfect white squeaky sand that squelches between your toes.
