A half hour drive from the centre of Perth, nestled among the trees and hills of the Darling Range, lies the town of Darlington.

The Railway Reserve Heritage Trail, which retraces 70 kilometres of the Old Eastern Railway constructed from Fremantle to York in the 1880s, passes through Darlington.
