Binna Burra Mountain Lodge, Beechmont

Under one hour’s drive from the Gold Coast and just 90 minutes from Brisbane, the rainforest of Lamington National Park sprawls like a rich emerald carpet across the spurs and valleys of the McPherson Ranges.

Locals say that there is a spirit which dwells in these mountains and forests – a spirit which has captivated thousands of people from all over the world since the area was first opened up in the early part of this century. Let nature weave it’s magic and be rejuvenated amidst the lush rainforest of world heritage listed Lamington National Park. Binna Burra Mountain Lodge has been welcoming guests since the early 1930s and while the cabins have been updated with modern amenities, there are no phones, clocks, radios or television to intrude on the serenity.

In total, over 160 kilometres of walking tracks now wend their way through Lamington National Park, making it one of the most accessible wilderness regions along the east coast of Australia.

Every day, guides set out into the wilderness to share their knowledge and experience with Lodge guests, or explore by yourself, stopping to rest by a waterfall and a picnic lunch at a cliff top lookout.

Thrill seekers can meet the challenge of abseiling 90 metres down a cliff-face or sailing high above the forest floor on a 160 metre flying fox.

Packages are fully inclusive of guided bushwalks, evening entertainment and an Australian cheese platter at Sunset on Coomera Terrace with the choice of room and breakfast or full board tariff. Binna Burra offers a choice of two lodge accommodation standards.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
