Mercure Resort Great Keppel Island, Great Keppel Island

Fringed by 17 separate white sand beaches encircling its 28 kilometre shoreline like a pearl shell necklace, Great Keppel Island offers an unique holiday destination.

Almost astride the Tropic of Capricorn, Great Keppel enjoys a sub-tropical climate and near constant sea breezes which combined with the turquoise crystal of its water creates a holiday escape unique to the region.

Laced with picturesque walking trails, the island lists 10 different tracks ranging from a 15 minute beach walk to a hike to the lighthouse at the island’s tip.

A sanctuary to extensive native flora and fauna including more than 100 species of bird life including kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, drongos and a diverse range of seabirds and with strong Aboriginal heritage links, Great Keppel Island is more than a place to lie in the sun.
