Beaches Backpackers Hervey Bay, Hervey Bay

Beaches Backpackers is located in the seaside coastal town on Hervey Bay, gateway to World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and the only place on the planet with rainforest grows on sand! Over 120 kilometres long and over 30 kilometres across at its widest point, the Island has developed over 800,000 years and is a unique natural environment.

Beach Backpackers provides the best stepping off point for experiencing Fraser Island with a self drive four wheel drive camping safari, or a guided day or overnight experience. From late July to early November, Hervey Bay has become famous as the playground of the majestic humpback whales and their calves on their return to the Antarctic. Visitors can view these magnificent creatures from a range of tours operating out of Hervey Bay.

The hostel offers a range of budget style accommodation included shared dormitory, twin and double rooms with both ensuite and shared facilities available. All rooms are serviced daily.

Guests have access to a range of facilities including an extensive outdoor area with in-ground swimming pools, barbecue facilities and a games area. In addition to this, communal kitchen and dining room, laundry, internet facilities and a travel desk are also available. Complimentary transfers are provided to the bus station and local shopping centre, and for those travelling by car, secure parking facilities are available.

The Beaches Bar and Restaurant provide a venue for a range of activities each night where guests can party into the early hours of the morning.
