Clover Cottage Country Retreat, Manjimup

Historic Clover Cottage, built in 1875, is a pioneer homestead of the Southern Forests region. The farm is nestled on the bank of the magnificent Warren River.

The time honoured charm of Clover Cottage, with its cottage gardens, gnarled old trees and misty river valley setting provide an aura of romance and tranquillity of a bygone era. On the property the four superbly built and appointed limestone cottages look down onto the trout filled lake and the Warren River forest valley.

The cosy wood fire and private spa , make it the perfect place for a romantic getaway. On the large verandah you can relax in a hammock, enjoy a barbecue or dine out on the wooden outdoor setting while enjoying the theatre of the bush. All you need to bring are your clothes, food, bottle of wine, favourite compact disks, some suitable walking shoes and a good book. Videos are available.

For the energetic, there is the grass tennis court, so don’t forget your tennis racquet. For a bushwalking adventure you can venture down the original pioneer road and discover the historic schoolhouse/church (built in 1880) tucked away in the forest valley. Take a stroll along the river and forest walks to experience the unique flora and fauna.

Down on the banks of the river you can use a canoe to paddle upstream over long, tranquil, tree-lined pools of water and try your luck with a lure or just explore the river. The trout fishing lake is the ultimate fishing experience for the family or the keen fly fisherman. Fly fishing tuition is available on prior arrangement.

The central location of Clover Cottage makes it ideal for half-day trips to see the Tree Top Walk at Walpole, the Gloucester tree at Pemberton, the Forest Park at Northcliffe, the Timber Museum at Manjimup , the Karri Forest Walks at Quinninup and the Southern Ocean at Salmon Beach and Windy Harbour.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
