McAlpine House was the residence of Lord Alistair McAlpine who built the Cable Beach Club and purchased many of Broome’s historic buildings such as the Sun Cinema Centre located in Chinatown about two kilometres away. Town Beach, famous for the stairway to the moon is just one kilometre from McAlpine House. The are many art galleries and restaurants within close proximity. Gantheaume Point is six kilometres from the house and is a beautiful spot to observe one of Broomes famous sunsets. Try a camel ride on Cable Beach or a hovercraft trip on Roebuck Bay. Flights to Cape Leveque and the Horizontal Waterfall and the Kimberley can also be arranged.

The Library Retreats are both upstairs on either side of the Library. They are joined by a wrap around balcony that overlooks the pool.

Pearlers Room

The Pearlers rooms are in the original part of the house that dates back to 1910. They have a queen sized bed and ensuite and are
surrounded by a sweeping verandah just metres from the pool.

Treehouse

The Treehouse is a room up on stilts at treetop level. It is a large bright and airy room with a queen sized bed.
The Treehouse has a private bathroom at the foot of the stairs and is suitable for the adventurous or young at heart.
