Red Mill House, Daintree

Red Mill House is a magnificent old “Queenslander” home set in 1.5 acres of secluded tropical gardens, which are rich in bird life and butterflies. Catering to birdwatchers and lovers of nature in general, Red Mill House is within easy reach of The Daintree World Heritage Area, Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and the Great Barrier Reef.

The modern tasteful ensuite room of “Tremaine” have air-conditioning and large verandas overlooking the garden. The rooms have either king, queen or twin beds and spacious bathrooms. Red Mill House has two share facility rooms with private lounge and outdoor areas and is ideal as a family unit. One room is a double bedroom and the other has a king or twin beds. Small groups are catered for. It is a very social and relaxing environment and many hours can be spent just watching the wildlife in the wonderful gardens.

Breakfast is served on the veranda overlooking the garden and pond, and consists of tropical fruits, homemade yoghurt, breads and jams, local coffee and tea, and a full cooked breakfast. Being situated in the tiny township of Daintree Village, there are several restaurant choices available for other meals.

A large saltwater pool, shared lounge and reference library, and open veranda are available for guest use, and laundry, barbecue and internet use are available. The garden and local walks are excellent for bird watching and guides can be arranged for river or land based wildlife tours. Conveniently located for specialist bird watching tours of the Daintree River, Red Mill House is an ideal base for exploring the Daintree region.

Two share facility room with spacious lounge, utility area, bathroom and toilet and outdoor area. Fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. One double bedroom and one king or twin bedroom with private entrance. Ideal as a family unit. Communal eating area, lounge and library upstairs.
