Mount Tully Cottage and Nature Refuge, Stanthorpe

Mt Tully Cottage is a luxurious fully self-contained two bedroom cottage, easily accessible by bitumen road. The surrounding 15 hectares of natural granite bushland has recently been declared a Nature Refuge. It is ideal for a weekend of total relaxation or as a base for exploring the local national parks, wineries, festivals, fruit stalls and crafts.

As the only building on the property, the cottage offers total privacy and seclusion. Inside are two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds and an extra fold-out queen bed in the lounge in front of the enclosed fire place. In the cold winter nights, the whole cottage is soon warmed by the fire, while even in summer the temperature is always pleasant. Guests will find everything they need: quality linen and cosy doonas; an array of fine glasses and crockery; makings for plunger coffee and gourmet teas, and all the equipment needed to cook up a feast. For the first morning, a sumptuous breakfast basket is provided, so weekenders don’t need to worry about shopping before they arrive. A television, compact disc player, video and DVD provide extra entertainment for those ‘staying in’ days or nights.

Sitting outside on the patio or in the several outside settings, guests can watch wrens, finches and wallabies or enjoy the sunshine. They can also explore the nature refuge around the cottage or walk or cycle in the local area. When they feel ready to explore further afield, the wineries, restaurants and national parks of the granite belt are all close by. Stanthorpe with shops and restaurants is only ten minutes’ drive away and a taxi service is available. Girraween National Park with its many walking tracks and spectacular scenery and wildflowers can be reached in 20 minutes.

Mt Tully can be enjoyed in all seasons: from the festivals and freezing nights of winter to the vibrant life and cool evenings in summer. Spring brings wonderful wildflower displays across the Granite Belt, and Autumn the bright skies and deliciously cool days.
