Dairy, Berry

The Dairy is a private, self-contained cottage located at the end of a quiet country lane, just five kilometres from Berry. Available for short stay and holiday accommodation, this is the perfect place to relax, unwind and take in some spectacular views.

Set amid 55 acres of pasture and rainforest, this one-bedroom cottage, converted from the original farm dairy, is less than two hours south of Sydney. You’ll be splendidly isolated at the end of Bundewallah Valley, yet just a few minutes drive from the historic town of Berry and within easy reach of the beaches, mountains and national parks nearby.

The view from The Dairy down the valley is spectacular and unobstructed – from the kitchen window, a farmhouse can be seen in the distance; otherwise it’s just bush, mountains and a creek running through pasture.

The Dairy was converted to guest accommodation using recycled timbers and other materials from the original pioneer’s slab hut and the old farmhouse on the property. Every board tells a story, but you won’t have to do without modern conveniences. Linen for your stay is provided and the kitchen is fully equipped – you’ll even find a great collection of cookbooks from some of Australia’s leading chefs in the old meatsafe above the fridge. All the comforts of home are here – video, CD-stereo, books and boardgames. During the colder months, the fireplace is waiting for your arrival – just add a match.

Guests are welcome to wander over the entire property and the surrounding bushland. Apart from the geese and a dozen friendly cows, the property is all yours for the duration of your stay. Couples looking for a relaxed, romantic, totally private escape, will find The Dairy ideal.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
