Pinetrees Lodge, Lord Howe Island

Pinetrees Lodge is the ultimate full board holiday resort catering for 85 guests on World Heritage listed, Lord Howe Island and is situated alongside Lagoon Beach. It is close to the surf beach and bowling club. A guest house for over 100 years, this historic property has been passed down to the present owners, fifth generation islanders Pixie Rourke and Kerry McFadyen.

Accommodation ranges from comfortable motel-style units with private facilities to luxurious self contained Garden Cottages. There is also a 3 bed cottage and 4 bed cottage for families or groups of friends. Pinetrees is famous for its good food and great service. Pinetrees’ professional chefs prepare superb meals from breakfast to dinner, all included in the tariff. There’s the best fish you have ever tasted, maybe caught by you that day. There is home made bread, fresh vegetables and delicious desserts.

No matter how you choose to spend your day, Pinetrees will pack your lunch – cold picnic style or Australian barbecue, so you can spend all day relaxing at your favourite spot, birdwatching, fishing, snorkelling or just lazing in the sun. Finish the day with drinks at the Pinetrees boatshed watching the sun set over the lagoon, followed by a romantic candle-lit dinner for two or join new-found friends. It’s up to you.

Pinetrees Lodge has an excellent bar, billiard room, lounge with log fire for the cooler months, small library and a well maintained Supergrasse tennis court. Pinetrees is open all year and offers attractive holiday packages with air fares, accommodation, all meals and island transfers. A wonderful programme of jazz is held each year during June, July and August.

Accommodation Options

1 Bed Suite

1 Bedroom Suite- two identical suites in the Heritage Cottage close to the lagoon.Each has a well appointed bedroom, a shower room with access to a private courtyard, a lounge room which can convert to a 2nd bedroom for children and a generous covered verandah. New windows and skylights make these suites open and airy. A refirigerator, ironing board and tea and coffee making area are provided. ideal accommodation for a young family.

3BR Cottage

The Three Bedroom Cottage is suitable for small families, but has only one bathroom. Cottage has a kitchen,living/ dining area with private front verandah.

4BR Cottage

The Four Bedroom Cottage- Our large four bedroom cottage ( 3 bedrooms have their own ensuites) is ideal for large families and is often used for small conferences. Cottage has a kitchen, living/dining area.

Garden Cottage

Garden Cottage- world class, architect designed 60m2 free standing cottages with large master bedroom, queen size bed plus a single bed, large shower room with access to a private garden court and a lounge-dining-kitchen area, all well appointed and superbly designed. The lounge area can easily be converted to a second bedroom. Cottages are equipped with outdoor table and chairs, sun lounges, also hairdryer and bathrobes.

Palm Units

Palm Units-comfortable motel-style units with renovated private facilities, carpeted floors, tea and coffee making facilities, mini refrigerator and private front verandahs.

Transit Hill

Transit Hill- good motel-style units in a popular location looking up Transit Hill past our 100 year old Chinese Elm tree. All have fully tiled private facilities, carpeted floors, tea and coffee making and mini refrigerator.
Cross ventilation and sound proofing are both generally good and all have private covered verandahs to the back of the units.

Under the Pines

Under the Pines- The newest and best of our motel -style units, well located and larger than the other units. They each have fully tiled private facilities, queen size bed and a single bed, good cross ventilation, hairdryer, bathrobes, carpeted floor and private front verandahs.
