Leconfield House Bed And Breakfast, Leconfield
Originally built in 1872 for Reginald Wyndham, the first son of George Wyndham, the founder of the Wyndham Estate Winery, Leconfield House is a two story brick building of substantial proportions. Recently renovated, the home has been restored to its former glory and opened to the public as a boutique ‘Bed and Breakfast’.
Guest accommodation consists of four spacious air-conditioned guestrooms with private en-suite facilities and a smaller bedroom with a separate bathroom. The great verandah, with its spectacular Hunter Valley views and the formal lounge room with an open marble fireplace, lead light French doors and Australian red cedar joinery are for guests to enjoy at their leisure.
Set on a private estate of 13 acres, the home is located well back from the road on the hill overlooking the award winning Wyndham Estate Winery, the venue of some of the regions premier entertainment events including Opera in the Vines and Seasons Lunches.
Most Hunter Valley wineries, restaurants and other attractions, including hot
air ballooning, are within easy reach of Leconfield House.
The house can accommodate up to 10 adult guests in comfort and as well as being the perfect weekend escape for couples, is also an ideal venue for a murder mystery weekend, small weeding or corporate get together. A wholesome, country style hot breakfast is included in the tariff and is served in the
fine dining room downstairs. Other meals, including picnic baskets are available on request. Barbecue facilities are provided for guests wanting to do their own thing.
Just two hours by road from Sydney and 4kms from the New England Highway at Branxton, Leconfield House provides the prefect venue for your special stay in the Hunter.
