Monaghan’s Cottage, Farrell Flat

Monaghan’s Cottage was originally owned by the Monaghan family for around 100 years and has been operating as a self-contained bed and breakfast for almost four years. It is newly renovated to provide comfortable, yet affordable accommodation for families and couples who are looking for a quiet location that is central to all the region has to offer.

You can easily explore the beautiful Clare Valley and surrounding areas from Farrell Flat, as it is conveniently located between the three major towns of Clare, Burra and historic Mintaro.

Farrell Flat also offers some interesting history in its own right and can be explored by visiting the town’s interpreter centre in the main street.

Monaghan’s Cottage boasts a large rear yard and private garden with plenty of room for children to play including a swing set and a wood fuel barbecue.

This peaceful country cottage is a great place to relax and unwind, whilst the spectacular sunsets and views towards the Clare hills can be enjoyed from the back patio/pergola area.

The front verandah is typical of a cottage of this age and beauty, and is ideal place for couples to relax with a recently purchase glass or two of beautiful Clare Valley wine.

Monaghan’s has its own resident chooks and guests (especially the children) are welcome to collect eggs from the chook house and are encouraged to have fresh free range eggs for breakfast.

Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast are actually the cores of 20 million year old volcanoes. The sides of the volcanoes have eroded away leaving only the hardened rock spiremountain cores we see today. Learn more about this awe-inspiring landscape.
