Outback Camel Company

The Outback Camel Company has been exploring the vast deserts of inland Australia since 1976 when company founder, Rex Ellis, successful completed the first commercial camel expedition across the Simpson Desert. They continue to offer a range of unique and educational treks and expeditions travelling through some of the continents most remote areas. All treks and expeditions are primarily walking treks, they are not camel riding safaris, although two or three riding camels are always available, terrain permitting.

On any trek or expedition you will encounter the deserts diversity, whether it be walking along a red dune at dawn investigating the spinifex mouses purposeful nocturnal tracks or setting up your camera for a photograph of the abundant wildflowers that appear after rain. Dont forget the seemingly endless vistas, the camaraderie, the brilliant evening glow of the stars, the remarkable attributes of the camels, and of course, the captivating serenity of the day and pure silence of the night.

They believe that there is no better way to experience Australias spectacular Outback.
