Manyallaluk The Dreaming Place

Manyallaluk is an Aboriginal owned and operated tourism business providing visitors with the unique opportunity to experience Aboriginal culture. Situated 100 kilometres from Katherine, Manyallaluk offers one and three day touring options, including self drive tours. Visitors are welcome to camp, and to visit the art and craft centre, which features the work of local artists.

Touring Options

1 Day Self Drive Cultural Experience

Spend a day sharing in the culture of the local Aboriginal of Manyallaluk, located approximately 100 kilometres north east of Katherine, on this unforgettable self drive tour. You will learn about bush tucker, and see demonstrations of traditional bark painting, fire lighting, spear throwing and basket weaving. You may also like to camp overnight in the scenic surrounds of the Manyallaluk community, or purchase local artworks direct from the artist.

1 Day Cultural Experience

Learn about Aboriginal culture on this tour to the outback community of Manyallaluk, located approximately 100 kilometres north east of Katherine. You will be greeted by Aboriginal guides who will lead you in search of bush tucker. In the afternoon you can participate in a fascinating series of demonstrations and activities, including traditional bark painting, fire lighting, spear throwing and basket weaving. Before returning to Katherine you can enjoy a traditional barbecue lunch and will have the opportunity to purchase works from local artists.

3 Day Nipbamjarn Wilderness Escape

Discover the culture of the local Aboriginal people on this three day tour visiting the community of Manyallaluk, located approximately 100 kilometres north east of Katherine. Aboriginal guides will take you in search of bush tucker, teach you basket weaving and spear throwing and show you ancient Aboriginal rock art and ceremonial sites.
