Adelaide To Alice Springs Six Day Tour – TJ19

Visit the opal mining town of Coober Pedy, watch the sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock), see stunning Outback scenery at Kings Canyon en route to Alice Springs. Travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy via Port Augusta. Stay overnight in the Underground Desert Cave Motel. Then spend a day exploring Coober Pedy and the surrounding district, including a tour of the town and a half day trip to surrounding areas. Overnight at the Desert Cave Motel. Travel to Uluru (Ayers Rock) arriving in time to see the sunset. Camp overnight. An opportunity to see the sunrise over the Rock and then climb to the top of the world’s largest monolith before heading off for Kings Creek Station for another overnight camp. After visiting the spectacular Kings Canyon travel to Alice Springs and overnight motel accommodation. Depending on flight arrangements, a tour of local places of interest can be arranged on the last day of tour before drop off at the Alice Springs Airport.

Into The Red Centre Nine Day Tour – TJ03

Nine days touring the red centre in a spacious, air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. Highlights include the Flinders Ranges, William Creek, Oodnadatta, Dalhousie Springs, Ayers Rock, The Olgas, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy.

Kangaroo Island Four Day Tour – TJ32

Spend four days exploring the unique wilderness area. Kangaroo Island is Australia’s third largest island covering some 4,500 square kilometres of rugged coastal scenery, pristine beaches, rivers and historic towns.

. Day One – Adelaide to Kingscote – We depart Adelaide at approximately 0600 and travel south down the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis. Here we join the ferry for our trip across the 16 kilometres stretch of water known as Backstairs Passage. After approximately one hour we arrive at the small coastal town of Penneshaw then on to our first view of the abundant and spectacular coastal scenery at Pennington Bay. We travel on via the scenic route to American River and take a break at one of the impressive scenic lookouts. On then to Kingscote, we check in to our accommodation, break for lunch on the foreshore, then visit Emu Bay and the remote Stokes Bay. We return to Kingscote via the historic and scenic area of Cygnet River. Overnight accommodation at the Ozone Hotel. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – Seal Bay and Flinders Chase – With an early start we explore today the beautiful Flinders Chase National Park. On route we visit Vivonne Bay and the world famous Seal Bay. At Seal Bay, we take in one of the world’s most unique wildlife experiences, a walk along pristine beaches, amongst large colonies of sea lions. Arriving at Flinders Chase National Park we pause for our barbecue lunch amongst native bush that abounds with koalas and kangaroos. After lunch, we visit the spectacular coastal feature known as Admirals Arch and the geological wonder of Remarkable Rocks. Our homeward journey is through vast native bushland, seasonal wildflowers and secluded tree lined creeks. Overnight accommodation at Ozone Hotel.

. Day Three – Farm tours, the North Coast and Western River – Today we begin our tour with a chance to view and sample some of the Island’s cottage industries. We visit the Eucalyptus Farm and the famous Honey Farm before we travel out to the west coast of the Island. We take the coastal hills route, with unforgettable views across rugged cliffs, as we descent down to the coast and the magnificent beauty of Western River Cover. We lunch at this remote and peaceful spot, perhaps dining on fresh fish that we have caught along the way. After a stroll along the wild and secluded beach, we return to Kingscote in time to view the pelican feeding and to perhaps replenish our fish stocks as we try our luck from the jetty. Overnight accommodation at the Ozone Hotel.

. Day Four – Tours of the south and east coasts, Penneshaw – Our final day begins at the historic and spectacularly beautiful D’Estrees Bay. This unspoilt area provides more magnificent coastal views and opportunities for beach walks. The Mount Thisby Lookout and the scenic town of Pennington are our next stops as we head for the serene beauty of the East Coast. We visit and experience the spectacular beach at the mouth of the pristine Chapman’s River, the wild rugged coast at Cape Willoughby and the historic Frenchman’s Rock. We leave the Island at 1930 and arrive in Adelaide at approximately 2230. Includes breakfast and lunch.

Coorong and Beyond Venture Two Day Tour – TJ18

See magnificent coastal scenery at the Coorong where the River Murray meets the sea and stay overnight in the fishing town of Robe.

. Day One – Travel via Mount Barker and Langhorne Creek to Wellington and enjoy morning tea at the Old Courthouse before crossing the River Murray. Then travel around Lake Alexandrina past historic Poltalloch Station, then cross the Narrows to Narrung. Pass through rich dairying and grazing properties to the shores of the Coorong where we enter the Coorong National Park. Visit Camp Coorong, the cultural museum of the Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal people, before travelling on to Salt Creek. At Salt Creek we have a meal of local Coorong mullet. After lunch travel through the coastal scrub and road conditions permitting, cross the lagoon and the sand dunes to the magnificent coastline and travel south along the beach for some 12 kilometres to 42 Mile Crossing. Alternatively, follow the lagoon to 42 Mile Crossing then out to the beach and spend some time looking for shells and other treasures on the sand. Then we join the Princess Highway again and head along the coast to Robe for our overnight motel accommodation with dinner, bed and breakfast.

. Day Two – After breakfast, leave to explore Little Dip Conservation Park. This rugged coastline has many secluded sandy coves and beautiful ocean beaches. Visit Nora Creina, a charming little fishing port south of Robe. Enjoy the spectacular sand dunes that separate Lake George from the sea. Lunch at Beachport before heading home via the Princes Highway, arriving in Adelaide at approximately 1800.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at approximately 0700 and travel via National One Highway through Port Wakefield to Port Augusta to visit the Arid Lands Botanic Gardens. . Day Two – After an early breakfast travel via the Borefield Road to the Oodnadatta Track which we follow to William Creek. . Day Four – The Gawler Ranges National Park is our focus today, visiting fascinating areas that are a little off the beaten track. . Day Five – Today we travel to the coast for a couple of nights at the beautiful little village of Baird Bay. Enjoy a glass of champagne while watching the sunset on the spectacular cliffs at Point Labatt which is home to sea lions and dolphins. There may be an opportunity to take a cruise and swim with the dolphins and sea lions (at own cost). Dinner and overnight accommodation on the beachfront at Baird Bay. Flinders Ranges Three Day Tour – TJ05

Enjoy fantastic scenery and wildlife which abounds in the gorges and valleys of the Flinders Ranges during this three day tour in a spacious, air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at 0730. Travel via National Highway One past Port Pirie, enjoy morning tea at the seaside port of Port Germein then lunch at Port Augusta. After lunch we travel via Pichi Richi Pass to Quorn where we leave the main road to visit Buckaringa Gorge where we may spot the rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby, then visit Proby’s Grave as we cross the vast plains on our way to Parachilna. We arrive at the award winning Prairie Hotel in time for a drink before dinner. Overnight accommodation at the Prairie Hotel. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – After breakfast we leave for another day of great scenery and wildlife. We travel through the Parachilna Gorge to Blinman then into the heart of the central Flinders Ranges via the Aroona Valley and Bunyeroo Gorge. Wildlife abounds in the area – kangaroos, emus, birds of prey and colourful parrots. We pass through the ancient Brachina Gorge and onto the plains, skirting the ranges via the Moralana Scenic Drive to Wilpena Resort. We arrive in time for a stroll to Wangara Lookout or alternatively an optional scenic flight (at own cost) over the Pound. Overnight accommodation at the Wilpena Resort. . Day Three – This morning after a cooked breakfast we leave for home. We travel south to Hawker, then via Orroroo, Jamestown and the Clare Valley to Adelaide, arriving at approximately 1800.

Flinders Ranges and Outback Seven Day Tour – TJ33

Spend seven days exploring this unique wilderness area of South Australia. From deep gorges, rare and magnificent views of the Outback in flood, rugged ridge tops, tranquil waterholes and magnificent tree lined creeks and abundant wildlife.

. Day One – Adelaide to Wilpena – We depart Adelaide at approximately 0730 and travel northwards through the old copper mining town of Burra, then on to the towns of Orroroo and Hawker where we have our first glimpse of the Flinders Ranges. Onwards to the beautiful Wilpena Chalet nestled in a picturesque setting of creeks, huge Red River gums and a peaceful atmosphere. After a relaxing walk towards the Pound we stay overnight in this world famous resort, Wilpena Chalet. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – Wilpena area tours and Lyndhurst – With an early start we explore today the beautiful Flinders Ranges National Park where wildlife live freely in this bush environment. We visit the famous Cazneaux Tree and travel out of the ranges via the magnificent Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges. We travel along the western side of the ranges, and lunch in the Outback Pub at Parachilna. After lunch we head towards the coalfields of Leigh Creek and the Aroona Dam. We stop overnight at the isolated town of Lyndhurst with its famous Outback hotel. Overnight accommodation at the Lyndhurst Hotel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Three – Lyndhurst to Innamincka – With an early start we begin our journey up the famous Strzelecki Track towards the Cooper Creek. We pass the oil and gas fields of Moomba and travel through outback station countryside stopping to view a dingo, brolga or kangaroo before we enter the historic region around Innamincka, situated on the beautiful and historic Cooper Creek. Overnight accommodation at the Innamincka Motel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Four – scenic sights around Innamincka – Today we explore the Cooper Creek, its waterholes and wetlands. We travel through the country made famous by explorers Burke and Wills, and visit both Burke and Wills grave sites. We allow time for you to take an optional sunset cruise (at own cost) down the Cooper to Kings Marker. We return to Innamincka in time to relax and experience the sunset on the banks of this desert oasis. Overnight accommodation at the Innamincka Motel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Five – Innamincka to Arkaroola – We can allow time for an optional scenic flight (at own cost) over the magnificent wetlands of the Coongie Lakes System before leaving Innamincka. After leaving Innamincka we travel along with history as we follow the tracks of Burke and Wills, passing through lush cattle grazing country down the Strzelecki Track and onto the mountains towards the magnificent and rugged area of Arkaroola. Overnight accommodation in Arkaroola. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Six – Arkaroola tours then Arkaroola to Blinman – The day begins with tours to several of the unique wonders of Arkaroola. We allow time for you to take the world famous and breathtaking Ridge Top Tour and explore this National Park area, where we will see kangaroos, emus, wedge tail eagles and perhaps the rare Yellow Footed Ring Tailed Wallaby. We see tranquil waterholes, mountain peaks, deep gorges and the wonderful colours of the mountains and seasonal wildflowers. We continue our tour through the central plains country across Wirrealpa and Wertaloona Stations towards the old copper mining town of Blinman. Overnight accommodation at the Blinman Hotel. . Day Seven – Blinman to Adelaide – With an early start we turn for home via the renowned Moralana Scenic Drive to Hawker. We pause to take in the magnificent early morning views from Pugulist Hill. After our lunch at the Old Ghan Railway Station in Hawker we travel on to Quorn and the beautiful Clare Valley, arriving in Adelaide at 1800 approximately. Includes breakfast and lunch.

Lake Eyre Accommodated Four Day Tour – TJ10

Accommodated four day touring of Lake Eyre in a spacious, air conditioned four wheel drive vehicle. Highlights include the Clare Valley, Leigh Creek Coalfields, Anna Creek Station, Roxby Downs and Woomera.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at approximately 0730. Travel via Clare Valley, Jamestown, Orroroo, Hawker, Parachilna to Beltana Station for an overnight stay in the shearers quarters. Overnight accommodation at Beltana Station. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – After breakfast we head for William Creek via Lyndhurst and Marree. On the way we pass the Leigh Creek Coalfields and visit the ancient Ochre pits. We then travel passing curdimurka on the shore of Lake Eyre South, now the site of a bienniel formal outback ball, before stopping at the legendary William Creek Hotel for a drink. From William Creek we travel east to the shore of Lake Eyre where we can see across Halligan Bay and also to the lowest point in Australia – 15.2 metres below sea level. . Day Three – After breakfast we retrace our steps to Bopeechee, visiting some fascinating mound springs along the way, then turn south to Roxby Downs, an oasis in the desert. Overnight accommodation at Roxby Downs Motor Inn. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Flinders Ranges Two Day Tour – TJ04

See spectacular scenery and wildlife, travelling through the gorges and valleys of the central Flinders Ranges.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at 0730 approximately, travel via Highway One through Port Wakefield past Port Pirie and on to Port Augusta for lunch at the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden. We then travel through the picturesque Pichi Richi Pass to Quorn from where we travel across country to Hawker and on to Wilpena Resort, arriving in time for a walk or scenic flight.

. Day Two – After a hearty breakfast there is time for another walk or maybe a flight over the Pound. Leave for a day of spectacular scenery and wildlife, travelling through the gorges and valleys of the central Flinders Ranges. After morning tea at the Prairie Hotel Parachilna we head for home. Cross seemingly endless plains via Hawker, Orroroo and Jamestown to the beautiful Clare Valley arriving in Adelaide at approximately 1800.

Another full day of travel to Uluru (Ayers Rock) arriving in time for the sunset. Camp overnight. Time to climb the Rock, then visit Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) spend the rest of the day relaxing. Overnight camp again. Travel to Alice Springs and have the afternoon/evening free. Motel accommodation. Leave Alice Springs and travel south to Coober Pedy. Overnight at the Desert Cave Motel. Flinders Ranges and Arkaroola Five Day Tour – TJ07

Flinders Ranges, Arkaroola five day tour. Highlights include Warren and Bucharinga Gorges, Gammon Ranges National Park, Arkaroola Tourist Resort and Wilpena Pound.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at approximately 0730. Travel via National Highway One through Port Wakefield then on past Port Pirie, and via the beautiful Pichi Richi Pass to Quorn where we stop for lunch. After lunch travel to Warren Gorge and Bucharinga Gorge visiting the grave of Hugh Proby – an early settler – before heading across the vast plains of several remote properties to meet the main road north of Hawker. We travel to Parachilna with a population of six, arriving in time for a drink before dinner and award winning accommodation. Overnight accommodation at the Prairie Hotel. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – After a hearty breakfast we leave to travel further north via the historic mining town of Beltana then via Copley toward the Gammon Ranges. We pass by Mount Searle and skirt the Gammon Ranges National Park stopping for a picnic lunch in the bush. Then travel through beautiful and rugged station country arriving at the remote Arkaroola Tourist Resort in time for dinner. Overnight accommodation at Arkaroola. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Three – This morning you are treated to a breathtaking four wheel drive Ridgetop Tour. After lunch we have time for a walk in the bush or to take a short drive to some spectacular spots nearby. Following dinner and providing the sky is clear we may visit the observatory for a trip across the brilliant southern sky. Overnight accommodation at Arkaroola. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Four – Today travel via Balcanoona and Wirrealpa to Blinman. Enjoy lunch in the spectacular Mount Chambers Gorge. Then via Oraparinna to Wilpena Resort, stopping for a great view from Stokes Hill Lookout. Lake Eyre Warburton River Five Day Tour – TJ14

Discover Outback South Australia on the Lake Eyre Warburton River Five Day Tour. Highlights include Lake Eyre, Cooper Creek, Birdsville Track and the Warburton River.

. Day One – Depart Adelaide at 0730. Travel via Clare Valley, Jamestown, Orroroo, Hawker, Parachilna and Lyndhurst to Marree. On the way we pass the Leigh Creek Coalfields and visit the ancient Ochre Pits. We then travel to Muloorina Station for an overnight stay in the Shearers’ Quarters. Includes lunch and dinner.

. Day Two – After and early morning walk to the waterhole on the Frome Creek, home to dozens of different waterbirds, we travel across country to meet the Birdsville Track. We cross the Cooper Creek floodplain on our way to Mungerannie then to Kalamurina Station on the banks of the Warburton River. Overnight at Kalamurina Station. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Three – We spend our time exploring the Warburton and the bird life that it supports. We leave late in the afternoon to travel to Mungerannie. Dinner and overnight accommodation at Mungerannie Hotel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We travel south to Hookina then take the road across Partacoona Station to Buckaringa Gorge where we may be lucky enough to spot a Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby. Day Two – Wilpena Pound to Marree – This morning we head into the Lower Flinders Ranges area marvelling at the spectacular scenery of the Bunyeroo Valley, Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges as we wind our way on to the Western Plains. As we travel north we can appreciate the colour of the ranges to the east as the famous painter Sir Hans Heysen did many years ago. Day Three – Marree to Birdsville – Early rise, and after breakfast we travel on the famous Birdsville Track enjoying the Outback desert sand hills, station homesteads, flowing artesian bores and an abundance of wildlife. . Day Four – Around Birdsville – Up and watch the sunrise and after perhaps a short walk around this town. . Day Five – Birdsville to Innamincka – We leave Birdsville behind and travel through again outback station countryside stopping to see a dingo, brolga or kangaroo. Today we will be travelling on the Strzelecki Track through before arriving at the little town of Innamincka situated on the Cooper Creek. Overnight accommodation at the Innamincka Motel. . Day Six – Innamincka – Today we explore the Cooper Creek, its waterholes and wetlands. We visit the famous Dig Tree as well as Burke’s Grave. We take a sunset cruise down the Cooper to Kings Marker, as we travel through the country made famous by Burke and Wills. We return to Innamincka in time to relax and experience the sunset on the banks of this desert oasis. Overnight accommodation at the Innamincka Motel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day Seven – Innamincka to Tibooburra – After leaving Innamincka we travel through lush cattle grazing country down the Strzelecki Track and on to Cameron’s Corner where the three states, Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia meet. After a short stopover here and a look at the Dingo Fence we travel over red sand hills in this wilderness area and onto the Outback town of Tibooburra. Overnight accommodation at the Tibooburra Motel. Includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.

. Day Eight – Tibooburra to Sturt National Park – We explore today the beautiful Sturt National Park where wildlife live freely in this bush environment. We take time to enjoy the way of life so different to the hustle and bustle of the city. This is real Outback Australia. Overnight accommodation at the Tibooburra Motel. . Day Nine – Tibooburra to Broken Hill – We leave this isolated town behind and travel southwards along Sturt’s Trail to Depot Glen, Poole’s Grave to Milparinka. Coorong Day Venture – TJ17

See magnificent coastal scenery and an abundance of bird life at the Coorong where the River Murray meets the sea. Travel via Greenhill Road and Piccadilly Valley through Aldgate, Macclesfield and Strathalbyn to Wellington. Then enjoy morning tea at the Old Courthouse before crossing the River Murray. Travel around Lake Alexandrina past historic Poltalloch Station, then cross the Narrows to Narrung. Pass through rich dairying and grazing properties to the shores of the Coorong where we enter the Coorong National Park. Visit Camp Coorong and the cultural museum of the Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal people before travelling on to Salt Creek for a meal of local Coorong mullet. After lunch travel through the coastal scrub and road conditions permitting, cross the lagoon and the sand dunes to the magnificent coastline and travel along the beach for some 12 kilometres. Alternatively, walk out to the beach and spend some time looking for shells and other treasures on the sand. Then we join the Princes Highway again for the trip home, calling at the ruins of the historic Chinamans Well before stopping for a cup of coffee at Salt Creek. Returning to Adelaide via Meningie, Tailem Bend and the South Eastern Freeway, arriving in Adelaide at approximately 1800.

. Day Two – This morning explore Little Dip Conservation Park. This rugged coastline has many secluded sandy coves and beautiful ocean beaches. Visit Nora Creina, a charming little fishing port south of Robe. Enjoy the spectacular sand dunes that separate Lake George from the sea. After lunch at Beachport head inland to Coonawarra via Millicent and Penola.
