Stock Up Your Cellar 3 Day Tour – BD02

Spend three delightful days touring the McLaren Vale, Clare Valley and Barossa Valley wine regions in a luxurious air conditioned Daimler limousine.

. Day One – Be greeted at Adelaide Airport or Adelaide accommodation by your friendly host, John Baldwin, followed by a short drive through the southern Adelaide Hills. Indulge yourself in the views and scenery, and of course the fantastic wines of the McLaren Vale area. With it’s rolling fields of vines and fruit trees, the Mediterranean lifestyle is evident. It was originally settled by Greek and Italian immigrants who brought their skills with the vine to the region. Taste and buy fine regional wines only available at the cellar door from wineries snug in their surrounds of almond and olive groves. Beautiful clear skies and the scent of the ocean turn your thoughts to food. Enjoy a sumptuous two course lunch at a fine restaurant, followed by a meander through the rolling hills to continue your wine exploration. Evening will see you enjoying a delicious three course dinner, at your fully hosted guest house accommodation or local restaurant.

. Day Two – The heady odour of a country cooked breakfast will awaken you. Watch the scenery pass quietly by, lounging back in comfort as you travel to the famous Clare Valley to sample their fine elegant wines. Lunch is provided at one of the local restaurants before continuing your tour through the low rolling countryside. Enjoy some more wine tasting and take the opportunity to stock up your cellar. Travelling through areas settled by Polish and Irish immigrants, arrive at your guest house accommodation, where you can freshen up before enjoying another gourmet feast.

. Day Three – Start the day with a beautiful cooked breakfast, then off to discover the renowned Barossa Valley, with its full bodied dry table wine styles and classic vintages. Meet the winemaker, enjoy the culture, the arts and heritage of this unique region, first settled by the Lutheran migrants. Indulge in a gourmet lunch of superb local foods in a private cellar where you can dine among the barrels of maturing vintages. Delight in the small family owned wineries, and savour the sparkling Shiraz and aged wines. Barossa Daimler Tours can design the days touring around a particular wine of interest to the party, but if it’s not the wine you came for, then let the history, culture and beauty unfold as you enjoy a personalised tour of your own. The vehicles are very rare, there are only six in Australia. They were each brought to Australia in the 1960s for tours by the Royal Family. To travel in one of these vehicles is a unique experience in itself. Barossa Daimler Tours give you the opportunity to meet the winemakers and the local characters for a truly memorable insight into the Barossa Valley and its world famous wines. Tours are exclusive to one party and therefore flexibility is at a premium, any variations possible on application.

Luxury Food and Wine Two Day Tour – BD06

Experience two days of wine exploration touring in a magnificent Daimler (exclusive to you) and receiving premium service from some of South Australia’s best wineries. Touring with John Baldwin will ensure a truly memorable insight into the Clare and Barossa wine regions.

Day One – You’ll be greeted at Adelaide Airport or an Adelaide guesthouse by your friendly host, John Baldwin, in a rare 1962 Daimler and travel to the Clare Valley for a tour and tasting of the fine elegant wines of this picturesque region. Enjoy a two course gourmet lunch with wine on the verandah of Skillogalee, with beautiful views of the Clare Valley. As wine is all about personal tastes, your tour and tastings will be tailored for you by John, an award winning wine guide. Enjoy afternoon tea at Martindale Hall ( ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ location) and then travel to the Barossa Valley for your overnight stay at Lanzerac Country House, set amongst the vines near Tanunda. You will enjoy a light two course evening meal at your hosted guesthouse.

Day Two – Start the day with a country cooked breakfast in the ‘French Provincial Restaurant’ at Lanzerac and then spend another informative day of wine exploration with John and your luxurious Daimler, previously used in royal tours of the sixties. You’ll be picked up at 1000 to begin your tour of the world famous Barossa Valley and once again, the day will include a two course gourmet lunch with wine, at a local Barossa restaurant. Your tour will feature both large, historical wineries and small family owned boutiques, once again, tailored to your particular wine tastes by John. Afternoon tea is also included. You will then travel through the Adelaide Hills via Chain of Ponds, to be dropped off at the airport or your Adelaide accommodation for approximately 1700.
