Calypso Reef Charters

Calypso is a family owned and operated company providing daily reef cruises from the Marina Mirage, Port Douglas. Calypso travels daily to three breathtaking sites on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.

Our fast, stable and comfortable vessels all have large deck areas and spacious saloons. Specialising in snorkelling and diving, our experienced crew provides friendly and professional service.

Unwind while you snorkel, admire the coral gardens and amazing marine life, take an introductory or certified dive or just relax on board and enjoy a refreshing drink – our boats are all fully licensed.

All cruises are inclusive of transfers from your accommodation in Port Douglas, morning & afternoon tea, tropical buffet lunch, interpretive reef talk, snorkelling equipment, guided snorkelling tour, stinger suits, wet suits and prescription masks.

Touring Options

Snorkelling

Providing professional supervision and tuition, with a comprehensive snorkelling safety brief and guided snorkel tour. Flotation devices and in water assistance provided, catering for non-swimmers and also if you have never snorkelled before.

Introductory Diving

No experience necessary to Scuba dive. Your PADI Dive Instructor will take you through a Discover Scuba Diving Brief highlighting all safety and skills. Once at the reef you will practice your skills both on the boat and in the water before being taken on a 30-40 minute dive with your Instructor to explore spectacular coral reefs with abundant marine life. Asthma and some other medical conditions may prevent you from diving.

Certified Diving

For certified divers Calypso have a great selection of sites where their professional PADI Instructors and Dive Masters will guide you in small groups. They cater for all levels of experience and provide dive computers and a fast dive tender for your safety. You can participate in up to three spectacular dives in one day!

Sailing on ‘Escape’

Enjoy your trip sailing on the elegant blue-water yacht, mooring at the spectacular Great Barrier Reef for lunch and to snorkel.

Admire the amazing coral gardens and abundant marine life. This exclusive sailing yacht carries a maximum of twelve people to the Great Barrier Reef on day trips and up to six guests on overnight and extended charter. ‘Escape’ had four private cabins, each with ensuites.
