Catch a Crab

Catch-A-Crab offers two unique tours along the Tweed River.

The multi award winning three hour Tweed River ‘Catch a Crab’ tour is one of the region’s highlights for visitors, combining the natural scenic beauty of the Tweed River with Aussie style family fun and a great crab lunch. All equipment for activities, fishing rods and bait supplied. Morning tea included. The cost of lunch is extra to this tour.

See how the famous Terranora rock oysters are farmed and harvested, sample freshly opened oysters direct from the farm and learn about the natural and cultural history of the area, on the new two and a half hour Tweed River Cruise and Oyster Farm Tour, including afternoon tea.

Join experienced guides on a scenic cruise of the Terranora Inlet featuring Mount Warning, core of the largest shield volcano in the Southern Hemisphere and surrounded by world heritage listed rainforests; fish and bird breeding habitat; waterfront lifestyles; interpretive talks; local history; geographical points of interest; Aboriginal folklore; morning tea; and bird feeding.

Learn about the history, the river boats, ocean going schooners and early explorers of the Tweed. Hear about the shipwrecks, smugglers and rum runners of early days; the cedar getters and gold fossickers; and the original settlers of the Tweed, the Minjungbal tribe and their Aboriginal culture.

Catch-A-Crab

This tour provides a unique and unforgettable experience, trapping the famous Queensland mud crabs and dining on the freshly caught crabs cooked onboard.

Feed the pelicans, go trapping for crabs, catch your own bait – yabbie pumping (tides permitting) and go fishing while your captain cooks your delicious crab lunch onboard. The cost of this lunch is extra to the cost of the tour. All equipment for activities, fishing rods and bait supplied. Morning tea included.

The calm waters of Terranora Inlet are abundant in bird and marine life providing excellent opportunities for fishing, pelican feeding and photo opportunities.
