Lestok Tours Full Day Karijini Tour.

The Pilbara, the oldest known landscape on Earth, estimated to be more than two and a half billion years old, and how beautifully it has aged. With its sheer gorges you can see where nature has carved deep lines of time into the landscape. There is no better place to witness this than at Karijini National Park.

Karijini has spectacular 100 metre sheer-sided ochre coloured chasms. Hidden amongst this ruggedness are crystal clear rock pools, cascading waterfalls and tropical fern environments each offering easy walking track or viewing platform access.

Lestok Tours departs daily from the nearby township of Tom Price, the highest town in Western Australia at an elevation of 747 metres. The tour explores the Weano recreation area including Oxer Lookout, a towering but safe precipice overlooking the juncture of Weano, Joffre, Hancock and Red Gorges, with a walk through Weano to Handrail pool (water levels permitting). Following a relaxing morning cuppa the next stop is Joffre Falls lookout for a photo stop. A refreshing salad and meat pack lunch is taken at the Karijini Visitors Centre.

The Karajini Visitor Centre houses a wealth of Aboriginal culture, pastoral history, flora, fauna, geological information and displays.

Our final stop is at Dales Gorge area which includes Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls and a swim at Fern Pool.

Pilbara Iron Mine Tour:

The town of Tom Price is also home to one of the world’s richest iron ore deposits which is mined by Pilbara Iron Pty Ltd.

Lestok Tours conducts one and a half hour comprehensive tours of the mine, one of the largest open cut mines in the world. View massive trucks and shovels at work moving mountains and learn about two and a half kilometre long trains. This industrial tour operates all year round.

Karijini National Park Gorge Tour

Full day tour into Karijini National Park with its sheer gorges and two and a half billion year old rock structures. The tour includes walks in the gorges and if you feel inclined, swimming in crystal clear pools with cascading water falls. A visit to the Karijini visitor center provides a wealth of information on aboriginal culture, pastoral history, flora, fauna, geological information and displays.

Our guide has a wealth of local knowledge and provides a comprehensive comentary during the day.

A refreshing salad and meat pack lunch is supplied with juice, fruit and a cake. A relaxing morning cuppa is taken is also provided. Fresh water is available on the airconditioned bus.

Pilbara Iron Mine Tour

The town of Tom Price is home to one of the world’s richest and largest iron ore mines. A one and a half hour guided tour will show you massive trucks and equipment moving mountains. This is a tour not to be missed and covers all aspects of the operation including mining,processing,rail transport and through to rehabilition and revegitation.
