Mountain-Top Experience

You’re behind the wheel of a fully equipped Land Rover Defender four wheel drive expedition vehicle. With five people on board, and the turbo-diesel humming, you’re winding up into the spectacular Victorian Alps. All you needed to bring was a sleeping bag, food and clothes. The tough 4WD trails are handled capably thanks to big mud terrain tyres, supple suspension and your prior driver training with the Mountain-Top Experience team. Cresting a ridge brings awesome views of endless ranges of mountain wilderness. Later, at your first river crossing you stop for lunch and a dip in the crystal-clear water. Your route then takes you through the site of an old gold-mining town where you take time out to explore. Finding a grassy clearing for the night, you had the supplied camping gear set up quickly. The evening meal is now sizzling over an open campfire as you relax with a coffee in hand and read up about tomorrow’s route in your guide book “4 Wheel Driving Gippsland“. Your adventure of a lifetime with Mountain-Top Experience has begun …. As well as 4WD vehicle hire, Mountain-Top Experience offers exciting Adventure Learning passenger tours for groups visiting Gippsland or for couples visiting the Latrobe City. For people with their own 4WD vehicle, tag-along tours involving camping for up to 5 days, guide you through the best of Victoria’s high country, mainly in summer and autumn. In winter we provide a snow transport service to Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort, and all year round we run the award-winning Copper Mine Adventure and Ghost Town Explorer tours from Walhalla Historic Township.
