Blue Dolphin Marine Tours

Be one of the few, not the many, for an up close and personal experience that you will never forget, see the magnificent humpback whale from the uncrowded deck of Blue Dolphin. As the smallest vessel and the only sailing vessel you will experience the trip of a lifetime. See the whales eye to eye and listen as your skipper shares his 22 years experience of marine mammals.

Imagine seeing a whale that is 35 foot long, the same length as the vessel and then 30 to 35 tonnes in weight, it is six or seven times that of the Blue Dolphin.

Carrying only a maximum of 20 people, your day on Blue Dolphin will be an intimate and personal tour. Take your time, slow down and enjoy a day to see the whales. The Blue Dolphin II is a brand new 35 foot sailing catamaran, offering wide flat decks and room for all to see unimpeded. The full day tour includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Marine life abounds in the waters of Hervey Bay. So keep a look out for dolphins, turtles, dugongs and in the sky above for the different bird species. There are Indo-pacific humpback dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins and sometimes the Common dolphin. Along the beautiful beaches of the western side of Fraser Island an occasional dingo may be spotted searching for food.

Skipper, Peter Lynch, has worked with dolphins and whales for over 22 years. Fourteen years with Seaworld as a marine mammal trainer, a summer season with the Australian Antarctic Division and for the last eight years as a dolphin and whale watch operator. He has attended many strandings of dolphins or whales and actively supports research by granting access to students to his tours and database.
