Lovick’s High Country Adventure

Lovick’s High Country Adventure is owned and operated by Charlie and Glenda Lovick who have over 30 years experience taking people on horseback into the fabulous Victorian High Country. Charlie was Master of Horse for the two ‘Man from Snowy River’ movies and he has taught and advised on many feature films and documentaries. The horses, who are the main stars of the show are willing, kind and surefooted and will carry their riders well over the rugged terrain of the Great Dividing Range. Our rides are of 2 – 9 days duration, from fun weekends in the Howqua Valley to the more challenging 4, 5, 6 and 9 day rides through wilderness and high peaks. We cater for all standards of riders, and give guidance and tips to apprehensive riders to help build their confidence. Our guides are very experienced and also have formal qualifications with AHSE (Association of Horse Safety and Education). They have years of knowledge of the trails and environment and life in the high country. Safety is very important and we pride ourselves on our excellent record. Accommodation is in our huts and also camping. We also lease out Seeforth Station at Sheepyard Flat and the Hideout in the Lower Howqua for private use. We endeavour to give our guests a fantastic experience, with good company, good horses and the magnificent country we have lived in all our lives.
