Oceanrunners

‘Oceanrunners’ operate from the historic Town of 1770, found on the coast halfway between Bundaberg and Gladstone. They have a Gemini 7.3 metre RIB capable of carrying nine passengers. These boats are used by the military all over the world taking on any ocean conditions. As the boat is ‘ocean capable’, they specialise in taking people to out of the way locations not otherwise accessible.

You will experience a variety of marine and bird life in a pristine environment, miles of isolated sandy beaches, where you can beachcomb, bushwalk to an historic lighthouse, swim, snorkel, or just relax in the crystal clear waters.

They also offer high speed mind blowing thrill rides that will guarantee to get your adrenaline pumping, more for the very adventurous, or for that corporate team building exercise. So whether you want to relax with an intimate group of friends and take an eco tour to that special isolated beach somewhere, or get your heart pumping, or just make, ‘The Bay and Beyond 1770’ what you want it to be, Oceanrunners have just the tour for you.

Touring Options

Ocean Thrill Ride

Suitable only for those who are physically very fit. This ride is like a roller-coaster, full-on and unpredictable like ocean. Structured to get your adrenaline pumping, twisting and turning, corkscrewing across the ocean, we take the boat to the edge of the flight envelope, then pause to feel the ocean lap beneath the boat to recover your composure, then zoom off again turning, burning, moving very fast…just for fun.

Eco Tour – The Bay and Beyond

A tour not to be missed. Bring your camera and swimmers.
Enjoy an exhilarating ride from ‘1770’, across the bay towards Bustard Head where you will visit creeks and estuaries on route, sighting dolphins, turtles and other forms of marine life (subject to seasonal variations and migration of species) in a pristine environment, visit a beautiful beach where you may swim or snorkel, and on to Bustard Head where you could walk up to the lighthouse for unsurpassed views. The tours must be booked the day before departure as Oceanrunners leave early in the day.

‘The Ride’

Only suitable for those who are physically fit. ‘The Ride’ incorporates some of the features of their ‘Ocean Thrill Ride’ but also more of a scenic nature, taking in points of interest along the coast, north and south depending on weather and sea conditions at the time. Time for photos, time for adrenaline.
