Enjoy a great day fishing and cruising the calm waters of Hervey Bay. Spotting dolphins at play or the occasional large sea turtle is an added bonus. DayTripper offers a clean, comfortable and unique way to experience Hervey Bay and Great Sandy Straits and provides a dress circle view of Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island.

Fishing trips on m.v. DayTripper are conducted on a daily basis. Rods, bait and tackle are supplied and continuous morning tea & coffee and an enjoyable and substantial buffet lunch are served on cruises returning after 1.00 p.m. An on-board licensed bar allows you to kick back and relax as you ply the crystal shallows around Fraser Island, enjoy the white sands of Pelican Bank or fish the popular fishing spots the area provides.

A twelve metre passenger barge licensed to carry 49 passengers and designed specifically for unparalleled access to the tidal waters of the Great Sandy Straits and the estuarine waterways around Fraser Island, DayTripper’s expansive deck offers comfort and stability and safe boating for children. The drop-down gangway ensures easy boarding for elderly, and male and female toilets are provided.

DayTripper departs from the the Tourist Jetty of Great Sandy Straits Marina. Fast Cat services from Kingfisher Bay Resort allow resort guests to join DayTripper for a fishing excursion and return to the island in plenty of time for dinner. Charters are available for parties, weddings, night fishing trips and fund raising events and “Lights of The Bay” evening cruises provide a perfect end to a relaxed day at Hervey Bay.

They can’t guarantee you’ll catch the “big one” but they do guarantee an enjoyable day on the water and great value for money.

The regular departures have been planned with coach tour operators and passengers from outside Hervey Bay in mind, allowing time for traveling to and from Hervey Bay.

Continuous tea and coffee is available and morning tea and a cold buffet lunch are served on cruises returning after 1.00 p.m. A licensed onboard bar serves snacks and both alcoholic and soft drinks.
