Touring Options

Apollo

Apollo is one of Australia’s most famous Maxi yachts, winner of the Sydney-Hobart, South China Sea Series, Kenwood Cup, Around Hawaii Island Race and every major race held on the East Coast of Australia. Designed by the late Ben Lexcen who also designed the winner of the 1983 Americas Cup. Fully refitted for charter work in 1998 and again in late 2004.

Condor

Condor is perhaps the most famous Maxi yacht in history, having won every major ocean race in the world twice! Condor is the only yacht to have achieved this distinction. These races included such highlights as the Sydney to Hobart, Fastnet, Bermuda Cup, World Maxi Championship, Porto Cervo Maxi Series and Antigua Race Week just to name a few. Condor is 81’6″ in length, was designed by Ron Holland and built in Penryn, Cornwall in the United Kingdom.

Broomstick

Broomstick was built in South Africa to win the Cape Town to Rio Yacht Race. From there she went on to compete in many of the world’s most famous blue water events including the Sydney to Hobart. As a true Maxi, she is big, comfortable and very fast. She finished racing in 2000 and was converted to charter in 2001 – but beware! Her racing spirit still remains.

Matador

At 85 feet in length she is the largest International Offshore Racing Maxi ever built. Matador was designed, developed and constructed at a cost of over US$20 million in 1991. The yacht is constructed from carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium. Matador competed in 52 races, 8 regattas and 2 Maxi world championships and was undefeated! Matador is truly an awesome sailing machine.

Hammer

Hammer is a 75 foot Maxi yacht that is indeed a true Australian yachting legend. Hammer was designed by Kel Steinman and owned and campaigned by Arthur Bloore. Throughout her racing career Hammer competed in many blue water events and was best known for her five consecutive placings in the world famous Sydney to Hobart, including line honours in the 50th Anniversary of the event. Hammer’s paint job certainly makes her the “wild child” of Prosail’s Maxi fleet.
