Experiences in New South Wales
Australia’s largest city of Sydney is the focal point for the best experiences in New South Wales. For the most breathtaking views of the city’s world-famous harbor, head to the iconic bridge for the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. The company offers three different tours to the mesmerising summit, 143 metres above the water.
For many, the ultimate Sydney experience means simply slipping into a swimming costume at Bondi Beach, a surfers’ paradise and a prime spot for people-watching or soaking up the sun. A great way to see the city is by kayak or canoe. This can be done as part of one of the many guided tours that take in the busier areas as well as those off the beaten track.
Taking in the best experiences in New South Wales does not mean sticking to the city centre, as there are plenty of other attractions nearby. Just west of Sydney, the glorious Blue Mountains and their unusual shapes make the perfect spot for hiking trips through the best of this UNESCO World Heritage site.
Alternatively, head to Katoomba, with its lively arts scene, and experience life in this laidback corner of the state. Australia is hardly known for its winter sports, but the Snowy Mountains in the southeast, the highest in the country, offer an unexpected New South Wales experience that simply must not be missed by skiers and snowboarders.
Thredbo and Charlotte Pass get guaranteed snow in July and August while, in the summer, they are equally spectacular spots for alpine walks, horseback riding and fishing in the clear mountain rivers and streams.
