Cairns Dive Centre is one of the most respected dive companies in Australia and one of the largest five star certifying agencies in the World. Cairns Dive Centre are renowned for providing outstanding quality and customer service.

Cairns Dive Centre offers day cruises and live aboard trips for the snorkeller and diver, as well as learn to dive courses through all levels. Curses commence daily in their five star Development Centre, which includes an air-conditioned classroom and a heated, four metre deep training pool. Cairns Dive Centre’s instructors are multi-lingual and study materials are available in many languages. Courses range from the Open Water course through to Instructor with Cairns Dive Centre’s own Course Director on site.

The M.V. Kangaroo Explorer, Cairns Dive Centre’s liveaboard boat, is moored on the Outer Edge of the Great Barrier Reef, approximately 65 kilometres off the coast of Cairns and visits at least two different snorkel/dive sites each day. She is a 26 metre catamaran, with a nine metre beam, allowing a comfortable stay in air conditioned twin, double and four share cabins, all with ensuite bathrooms, for a maximum of 36 passengers. All meals are freshly prepared by an onboard chef, who also caters for vegetarians and vegans.

The day cruises operate daily onboard the M.V. Sun-Kist. She is an 18 metre mono hull with a top speed of 24 knots, which offers a fast 90 minute transfer to the reef. She carries a maximum of 25 passengers for our day trip to the Outer Great Barrier Reef and visits two different sites daily.

Cairns Dive Centre – Courses

Learn-to-Dive courses with Cairns Dive Centre are one of the largest certifying agencies in the world. It takes four days to become an Open Water Diver, courses commence daily in the training facility, which includes an air-conditioned classroom and a heated, four metre deep training pool. Two days are spent in the classroom and in the pool, and the four training dives are undertaken on the Great Barrier Reef, either as day trips or on the live aboard boat. They have study materials and exams available in various foreign languages. All courses are taught in English.

Cairns Dive Centre – Day Trip

Day cruises operate daily onboard the M.V. Sun-Kist – an 18 metre mono hull. It carries a maximum of 25 passengers for the day trip, offering small, personalised tours. You will visit the Outer Great Barrier Reef and experience two different snorkel/dive sites in a day. All snorkel/dive equipment is included, as well as buffet lunch, tea or coffee and Marine-Biologist orientation. Introductory Scuba dives are available on request. The great number of dive locations allows Cairns Dive Centre to pick the right dive spot for any particular day, making it as enjoyable as possible for you.

Cairns Dive Centre – Live Aboard

Live aboard trips onboard the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer commences daily. The M.V. Kangaroo Explorer is a modern, 25 metre catamaran. Each of the 16 cabins (twin, double and four-berth) is fully air-conditioned, carpeted, has its own ensuite facilities and window. The twins and doubles are sold on a first come – first serve basis, there is no extra cost. The chef freshly prepares food daily.

The Kangaroo Explorer is equipped with a spacious dive deck, providing easy access to and from the water. Cairns Dive Centre cater for snorkellers, certified divers or learn to dive students.
