Toms Creek Retreat, Ellenborough

An award winning country retreat, nestled in Port Macquarie‘s spectacular Hinterland, at Ellenborough, approximately 400 kilometres north of Sydney on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, Toms Creek Retreat is a boutique country getaway that offers 4 star accommodation in spacious, private,
self contained cottages in a beautiful and secluded forest setting with views for miles.

Toms Creek Retreat promises wonderful scenery, over 90 species of birds, wallabies, echidnas and other wildlife, 160 acres of eucalypt and rainforest and over 8 kilometres of walking tracks, a huge waterhole in the Ellenborough River with natural spa and resident platypus.

Guests who want to do more than relax in comfort and enjoy the beautiful and natural surroundings can use the retreat as a base to explore an area rich in Colonial history. The Hinterland abounds with accessible and clean rivers, waterfalls, mountains, a world heritage listed National Park, extensive eucalypt and rainforests and breathtaking scenery. Good roads wind through forested hills interspersed with lush green pastures.

Discover interesting towns and villages offering unique cafes, galleries, wineries and cottage industries.
The more adventurous can canoe down crystal-clear rivers, ride along dappled forest trails, or visit normally inaccessible places in comfort with guided 4WD tours.

Accommodation consists of three spacious, well appointed and fully serviced one-bedroom cottages, positioned along a ridge overlooking the forest. Combined with large windows and skylights, cathedral ceilings and the extensive use of natural timbers and earthy colours, the feeling is one of
spaciousness and being part of the natural environment. During the warmer months the cottages enjoy cool easterly breezes and the shade of surrounding eucalypts, and during the cooler months gas heaters and electric blankets ensure that guests stay warm and cosy.
