BTS Tours and Transfers

Established in 1985, BTS Tours and Transfers is the longest established land tour operator based in Port Douglas. BTS are specialists of small group quality tours to some of the most stunning locations on the reef and rainforest coast of Australia’s tropical Far North Queensland.

From Port Douglas, BTS will travel to the pristine Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, connect you with Skyrail and the scenic train to the village of Kuranda, and the Aboriginal culture of Ku Ku Yalanji at Mossman Gorge. Experienced guides and purpose built vehicles will take you on a day full of discovery, scenic wonder and unique locations.

BTS Tours has a range of Transfers scheduled to meet your needs between Port Douglas and Cairns that can include Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, Mossman Gorge, The Daintree River, and the Rainforest Habitat. The more adventurous can have their own itineraries planned for personalised charters to the numerous exotic locations of the rainforest and outback regions of the Tropical Far North.

Touring Options

Daintree River and Mossman Gorge

Tour includes travel through the sugar cane fields to the Daintree River, a one hour cruise on the Daintree. Stops in Mossman township then two hours free time in the Mossman Gorge. Travelling from Cairns includes two hours in Port Douglas and transfers via the scenic coastal Cook Highway to Port Douglas.

Cape Tribulation

A pocket of ancient tropical rainforest locked in a biological time capsule on the driest continent on earth. The skilled guides are experts on the unique flora and wildlife of the Daintree’s wet tropic coastal lowlands and the mysteries of its evolution and survival over millions of years.

Tjapukai

Included with the 8.15 a.m. Kuranda Skyrail and the Scenic train tour from Port Douglas. Or can be included with a Cairns transfers from Port Douglas on the 8.00 a.m. 10.15 a.m. or 1.30 p.m. transfers.

Transfers

Transfer packages available to Hartleys Crocodile adventures, Skyrail and the Kuranda scenic train, Rainforest Habitat, skydive Cairns, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree River.

Kuranda

Kuranda, at the top of the Barron Gorge, has been linked to Cairns by a historic mountain railway since 1891 and Skyrail, a gondola cableway, since August 1995.

The colourful ‘village in the rainforest’ Kuranda has a tradition of imaginative art and crafts including artefacts from local Aboriginal communities. Restaurants and food stalls are culturally diverse and plentiful.

BTS offers two departures daily from Port Douglas that include Skyrail, the Kuranda scenic train and two and a half hours free time in Kuranda.
