Cat Balou Cruises
Your visit to the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales is not complete without a cruise around Twofold Bay, Eden or beyond aboard the multi tourism award wining vessel, ‘Cat Balou’.
The vessel ‘Cat Balou’ is a stable 15 metre catamaran capable of traveling at 12 knots. It has two decks with uninterrupted viewing. The bottom deck has enclosed seating for 44 passengers (in case of wet weather) plus a large covered back deck with seating. The open upper deck seats 24 passengers. There are two toilets on board and the vessel has limited wheelchair access.
On all cruises a live informative commentary is given and refreshments includes. Cat Balou is equipped with dolphin/whale cam for underwater viewing and hydrophone to enable passengers to hear whales singing.
All cruises depart from the Main Wharf at Eden.

Twofold Bay Sealife Cruises
A two hour cruise around Eden’s historic Twofold Bay. These cruises operate all year and and give passengers an insight into this historic whaling port. There is a resident pod of dolphins seen on most trips, also seals and penguins. Discover the beauty of the bay which is surrounded by the Ben Boyd National Park, Mount Imlay, State Forests and many pristine beaches.
Half Day Whale Watching
These cruises depart at 7.30am from late September until late November. With their land and sea based whale spotting network ensures you get the best possible chance of seeing whales at close range.
The main type of whales seen are Humpbacks which travel close to shore, at times coming right into Twofold Bay on their southern migration, but quite often other species are seen including the rare Blue Whales, Minke, Bryde’s, Southern Right and Orca.
You may witness the awesome sight of whales engaged in lateral lunge feeding – normally only seen in Antarctic waters.
Other sea life frequently seen are Common and Bottlenose Dolphins, Australian Fur Seals, Penguins, Sunfish and occasionally turtles. Bird watchers are amazed at the variety of sea birds including Albatross, Shearwaters, White Breasted Sea Eagles and Gannets to name a few.
